First of all, lets we talk about Mother's Day. When we celebrate and why we celebrate? What is the main motive to celebrate this and some interesting facts about Mother?

Last time means in 2019, the Mother’s Day was celebrated on 10 May 2019 (Sunday), and in the recent years in 2018 on 13 May, in 2017 on 14 May, in 2016 on 8 May.

In the following year means in 2020, the Mother’s Day will be celebrated on 10^th May of 2020 in 2021 it will celebrate on 9^th May of 2021. 👩‍ Mother’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. This particular day is dedicated to all Mothers! It is celebrated with different flowers, cards, chocolates, jewellery, candies or sometime with a special meal.

The first Mother’s Day was celebrated in the United States of America in the 19^th century. In 🌍 USA, before Civil War Ann Reeves Jarvis of West Virginia helped start “👩 Mothers’ Day Work Clubs” to teach local women how to properly care for their children.

MY MOTHER!

During World War II, that time was very difficult for my whole family. At that time, I was a 10-year-old child. In that period, everything was a rarity and in short supply. I had a large family and we lived all together.

For my studies, I would get up at four early in the morning to taking the classes of Mathematics to my teacher Sri Swamiyar. My Mathematics teacher was very unique and would take only five students to teach free in a year. His all students had a stiff condition, and they should have come to his classes at 5 a.m. after bathing.

My Journey

At that time, my Mother would get up before me, to help me in bathing and to get ready for my tuition classes. When I come back from tuition, my father would be waiting for me to take Namaz and to learn the “Koran Sharif” at the Arabic School.

After all these, I would run for three kilometres to the Rameshwaram Road Railway Station to collect the newspapers bundle and to thrown out from the passing Dhanushkodi Mail. I would run around Rameshwaram to pick up the newspapers and I was the first to distribute them in the town.

From that, I would return home around 8 a.m. and my Mother would give breakfast to all my Siblings and Cousins. But my Mother give me a special quota breakfast compared to my brothers and sisters because at that time I was studying and working simultaneously.

After my school was over, I would go around to collect dues from my newspaper’s customers in the evening.

Still he (Dr APJ Abdul Kalam) remembered an incident which was happened during those days and he shared that incident in his book “INDOMITABLE SPIRIT”.

During those days, rice was freely available but wheat was rationed, there ware a shortage of wheat. I, all my brothers and sisters were eating food and my mother continued giving me Chapattis (Tartilla). When I finished all my food, my elder brother scolded me very badly and said, “Kalam, do you know what did You?”

You went on eating chapattis and Mother went on giving you. She has given all her chapattis to you. It is a very difficult time for ourselves. Be a responsible son, and not make your Mom starve.

At that time, I had a shivering sensation for the first time and I couldn’t control myself. I rushed to my Mom and hugged her.

My 👨‍👧 Mother performed Namaz five times every ⛅day and every time I saw her during Namaz, I was inspired and moved.

Womanhood 👩‍👦 is a 🦋beautiful creation of 🗽God. I am always inspired and rejuvenated by the 💾memory of My 👨‍👧 Mother!
